Laboratory Scientist

#D1: Scientist: Molecular Biology, IVD

Job description & key responsibilities


A demonstrated scientific leader with extensive experience in molecular biology, with a broad knowledge and understanding of in vitro diagnostics and infectious diseases. Strong motivation, attention to detail, and ability to think independently and fully integrate into a high achieving team environment.


The successful candidates must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, drive scientific strategy and innovation, and have excellent leadership, organization, communication, and collaboration skills. Key responsibilities include:

-Leading collaborative, cross-functional team of scientists

-In depth understanding of regulatory requirements and experience providing stage appropriate data sets in product development towards commercialization

-Strong record of publication in peer-reviewed journals in the relevant discipline

-Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and collaboration skills


Desirable experience for this role includes:

-Experience in the IVD industry

-Experience working under ISO13485 or comparable standard

-Experience in tissue/infectious agent handling in a Biohazard Safety Level II/III environment

Plant Biologist

#D2: Scientist: Molecular Biology & Microbiology

Job description & key responsibilities

Good knowledge & experience of various PCR assays (including qPCR), Primer Probe design and microbiology techniques

-Perform lab-based assay development for molecular biology based techniques such as but not limited to qPCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction and cloning, gel electrophoresis etc

-Perform basic microbiology techniques for R&D projects

-Perform Tissue DNA extraction from various tissues

-Developing and troubleshooting protocols with team/team-leader

-Handling small R&D projects on deadlines independently

-Review of relevant literature -keeping up-to-date on relevant scientific literature and creating written reports for team review.

-Guiding interns/trainees

-Writing reports and making scientific presentations



The essential requirements for this role are:

-A PhD/MSc with 5 yrs (or equivalent experience) in molecular biology, microbiology or a related discipline

-Significant hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques including RT and qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction and quantification

-Microbiology techniques including but not limited to culture media preparation, microbial preparation, propagation, confirmation and identification

-Experience in experimental design, execution and data analysis

-Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice

-Willingness to work on projects as part of a team with shifting priorities

-Possessing a can-do attitude; Flexibility and ability to perform in a high-pressure environment

Science Student

#D3: Scientist-Protein Engineering, Structural biologist

Full Time

A highly motivated and collaborative candidate is sought to join our core R&D team. Our group utilizes multidisciplinary approaches to design, express, purify, and characterize protein reagents in support of structure determination efforts that advance our core tech.  The candidate will be part of cross-functional teams and collaborate across different teams. This is a research position that utilizes critical thinking, problem solving, flexibility, and the ability to evaluate new technologies to enable generation and characterization of proteins.

The successful candidate will join us to collaboratively work on protein engineering and actively engage with the external scientific community to keep the group at the forefront of protein science and structural biology research.

Key responsibilities include:

-Lead protein biochemistry efforts in designing constructs, expression screening strategies, purification and characterization of multiple recombinant protein targets to enable generation and validation of high-quality proteins

-Collaborating with colleagues in structural chemistry, molecular modeling, mass spectrometry, biophysics, and disease biology to design a comprehensive reagent generation strategy.

-Independently design and perform complex experiments with strong attention to detail and documentation

-Carry out lab-scale protein production activities, including protein expression and purification and coordinate with production team on scaling-up

-Present data at project team and department meetings.


The essential requirements for this role are:

-Qualified candidates will have a MS with 5+ years or a Ph.D. in Biochemistry Biophysics or equivalent education and experience with a strong publication record in relevant journals.

-Demonstrated proficiency and ability to troubleshoot protein purification.

-Highly organized and motivated, with the ability to work independently in a collaborative team-oriented setting, having strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.


Desirable experience for this role includes:

-Python coding and bioinformatics.

-Experience with homology modeling, computational protein design, de novo prediction, X-ray crystallography, BioSAXS, and Cryo-EM.

-Experience with analytical techniques, such as SPR, SEC-MALS, LC-MS, DLS, ITC, protein labeling and Tm determination.

-Understanding of enzymology and experience with assays, such as fluorescence polarization, AlphaLISA, HTRF, and radio-ligand binding.
